Bizwrite Co-Founder and Director of Content Strategy Tyler Reed commented on what steps companies should take to create a new brand for marketing for a recent Business.com article. In his comments, Tyler discusses tips for creating a successful brand, things to avoid, and branding insights built on advising hundreds of companies to create lasting brands.
“To establish a lasting brand, it is imperative to clearly define its core principles—what do you stand for and why?” explained Tyler. “Brands must then use those principles to guide their understanding of their target audience’s unique pain points and tailoring value propositions—what problem do we solve, and why are we best suited to solve it? With each targeted audience segment, brands must create bespoke messaging based on that particular group’s unique wants and needs, i.e., “Show me that you know me.”
Tyler goes on to explain, “By consistently upholding core principles and letting them shine throughout customer touchpoints, you’ll engage and delight your customers, build a following, and differentiate your brand from competitors in the eyes of fickle consumers. Upholding core principles can sound lofty; therefore, establishing a practical brand messaging framework is key. Distribute this guide to employees, particularly those in sales, marketing, and business development. However, everyone in your organization should understand your unique value proposition and be able to convey that in an elevator pitch.”
